Outreach Programs
Over the past six years the Australian Museum's Aboriginal Heritage Unit has administered the Aboriginal Museums' Outreach Program.
This program is designed to provide members of Aboriginal communities within New South Wales advice on how to plan and operate their own cultural centres and with keeping places and ongoing access to professional museum training.
Thanks to the continuing financial support of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission, the staff of the Aboriginal Heritage Unit consistently provide a range of services as part of the Aboriginal Museums' Outreach Program to assist Aboriginal people to protect and preserve their cultural heritage.
