Secret/sacred collections

The Museum holds some 1,000 Aboriginal objects of a secret/sacred nature from all over Australia which are separate from the main collections. There are also a number of pieces that are categorised as material of a private nature which are held in the main body of the collection under restricted use. This material includes items of a personal nature rather than a spiritual nature. Access to these collections can be arranged through the Aboriginal Heritage Unit, contact Phil Gordon.
