Aims: To determine species, sex and relatedness of individual specimens.
Protocols: Numerous published protocols have been tried for extraction and amplification.
Results: Results so far have not been encouraging. Sequences so far obtained have either been ambiguous or from human contamination. The possibilities are that the DNA is in too poor shape to be useful or that it is non-existent!
