Opportunistic Collection of Tissue in the Field
This document is a field manual detailing the principles and practices for taking tissues from animals found dead in the field. It was written primarily for the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, but its application and utility will hopefully reach beyond that agency. It describes the practical aspects of collection, methods of preservation and how to send samples to the Museum. It is intended that this document will be regularly revised and updated - new editions will be published here. Please contact the tissue collection manager with comments or suggestions or if you require any materials or further information.
