Frank Hurley in Papua

Papua Frank Hurley organised two expeditions to Papua between 1920 and 1923 where he took some remarkable photography of the people and culture of the area. The lifestyles photographed by Hurley have changed a lot since the 1920s, making his images historical records as well as innovative art. The original glass negatives were purchased by the Australian Museum in 1927 and 34 prints have been chosen to travel.
