Larval Fish Research at Lizard Island Research Station
An aerial shot of the field area. Lizard Island is 27 kilometres off the Queensland coast, 93 kilometres north-east of Cooktown. Lizard, and the other smaller islands in the group, are the only high, rocky islands situated close to the outer barrier reefs. The reefs and waters surrounding Lizard Island are part of the Cairns Section of the Great Barrier Reef.
