Claire Bartron is a PhD student at Murdoch University, Perth. She is working closely with Dr Peter Last and Dr William White.

During her visit to the Australian Museum Claire measured and examined the external features of many specimens of the Rhinobatidae (Shovelnose Rays). She will determine which traits vary between different species and genera. These data will be used to elucidate the relationships between members of the family and the evolutionary history of the group.

Claire visited the Australian Museum from 29 October until 4 November, 2007.
