Three staff from CSIRO Marine Research, Hobart are currently working in the fish collection.
They are working on several groups of fishes including the Branchiostegidae, Callionymidae, Ogcocephalidae and Scorpaenidae.
Results from this work are being incorporated into a large study of the bioregions of Australia's deepsea fauna. This project is being funded by the National Oceans Office.
They arrived in Sydney on March 11 2003 and will return to Hobart on March 21.
