Hisashi Imamura is an ichthyologist at the Hokkaido University Museum, Hakodate, Japan.

Hisashi is one of the world's experts on the systematics of the flatheads (Family Platycephalidae).

During his visit, he worked on specimens in the collection, in particular specimens in the genera Platycephalus and Ratabulus.

He visited the Australian Museum from 27 February until 23 March 2006.
