Dr Thomas Turner, Associate Professor/ Curator of Fishes, at the Museum of Southwestern Biology, Department of Biology, University of New Mexico is currently working in the Fish Section.

During his visit, Tom will be examining fishes held in the Australian Museum Fish Collection. He is interested in members of the Murray-Darling River freshwater fish community. Tom will be using muscle tissues from several species of fishes to examine stable isotopes of carbon and nitrogen in order to assess changes in fish food webs over the last century.

He arrived at the Australian Museum on 5 January 2005 and departed on 11 January.
