Nick Wegner is a PhD student from Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego.
Nick is studying gill specializations in high-performance fishes such as tunas, billfishes, and lamnid sharks.
During his visit Nick examined the gills of specimens of tunas and mackerels endemic to Australia and the Indo-Pacific region.
Nick visited the Australian Museum on 2nd and 3rd March 2007.
