Fishes - Australian Museum Fish Site

Collections

This image shows Mark McGrouther examining the underside of a large skate. His right hand is holding the pointed snout and his left hand is holding the rear margin of the disc. Male sharks, rays and chimaeras have claspers used in reproduction. These paired structures can be seen lying on either side of the tail of this fish. This specimen was collected off Sydney.

We hope you enjoyed the tour. If you have any comments feel free to email Mark McGrouther.
