Yellow-back Puller
A Yellow-back Puller at a depth of 6m, Shiprock, Port Hacking, New South Wales, January 2001.

The Yellow-back Puller can be recognised by its colouration. A dark stripe runs diagonally from the eye to the soft dorsal fin. Above this stripe the fish is yellowish-brown and below it is silver. The upper and lower margins of the caudal fin are black.

This species grows to 9cm in length.

It is usually seen on rocky reefs in coastal and offshore waters, and in estuaries.

The Yellow-back Puller is recorded from northern Queensland to the south coast of New South Wales.

This species is also known as the Shining Puller and the Barrier Reef Chromis.
