The Thicklip Trevally has a compressed (glossary) body with a row of scutes on the caudal peduncle.
It is silver to blue-grey with scattered dark spots and a few larger yellow spots on the body. The dorsal, anal and caudal fins are blue.
It grows to 60cm in length.
The Thicklip Trevally occurs in tropical marine waters of the Indo-Pacific.
In Australia it is known from south-western Western Australia around the tropical north and south to the central coast of New South Wales.
