Principal research interests:
- Systematics and evolution of lizards and snakes, especially scincid lizards
- Limb reduction in lizards
- Asymmetry in amphibians and reptiles
- Pollution, and developmental abnormalities in frogs
- Conservation, especially people's understanding of it.
Principal commercial services:
- Survey of amphibians and reptiles and their habitats.
- Survey of endangered amphibian and reptile species.
- Advice on amelioration of human impacts on amphibian and reptile habitats.
- Identification of amphibians and reptiles and their derivative products for import purposes.
- Critical review of environmental reports.
