snails and sea-slugs: molluscs

Trippa osseosa

Trippa osseosa. Without a shell, nudibranch sea-slugs have developed other ways to protect themselves from attack. Many sponge-feeding dorids have evolved a coloured and textured skin to match that of their food. Commonly found in the tropical Pacific and Indian Oceans (35mm).
