snails and sea-slugs: molluscs

Background

The contract began in early 1999 and will be completed by July 2000. A similar report has already been prepared on the Australian non-marine invertebrates (Yen & Butcher, 1997 — An overview of the conservation of Non-marine Invertebrates in Australia. Endangered Species Program, Environment Australia, Canberra, xii 346 pp). This document will follow a similar overall structure, although many of the specific themes and issues will obviously differ.

To obtain the information for the report, we have contacted scientists, government agencies and community groups involved with the study, use or conservation of marine invertebrates, as well as searching for relevant published material in journals and books.
