Fieldwork GalleryMuch of the work conducted in the Terrestrial Ecology Section is done in the field. Field work is a valuable and often intensive part of our research, with trips ranging in length from a few days to two weeks at a time. Currently we are conducting work in the wheatbelt of central western New South Wales. Work is also being carried out at Long Reef Golf Course and Broughton Island. Where possible we try to study our specimens in the field but often, it is necessary to collect organisms and bring them back to the Museum for research purposes. These pages show images of fieldwork which has been undertaken over the last few years.
