Family Day
What is 'Family Day'?
- Family Day varies each week. It is always a relaxed and fun session. We usually include a story and hands-on activities such as craft, puzzles and games.
- It is held in different parts of the Museum, depending on the day's theme.
- Signs telling you where the session is being run are placed near the Information Desk (Level G), and outside Kidspace (Level 2).
When is Family Day held?
- It is held at 10.30am and 11.15am every Thursday during school term.
- It doesn't run during school holidays, however 5s and under are always welcome to join in the school holiday activities.
Do I need to book?
- You can't book into Family Day in advance. However because Family Day is now so popular we give out free tickets on the day on a first come first served basis. This ensures that each session doesn't become too crowded and children have a more positive experience.
- Ask for your ticket when you get to Kidspace. The sessions are at 10.30am and 11.15am.
How much does it cost?
What age group is Family Day suitable for?
- For children 5 and under and their carers.
Can playgroups join in Family Day?
- Yes, playgroups are welcome at Family Day, but as you are a group you will need to book your general Museum visit first.
- Information for making a booking.
- If you are bringing a large group to Family Day, please call the 5s and Under Program Coordinator on (+612) 9320 6321. This is to let us know how many children you will be bringing, so we can make sure there are enough supplies for everyone.
